Microwave has issues

I bought this microwave/oven combination in 2015. After spending 900.00 on repairs the microwave oven still does not work. It gives me error code FIE5, the repairman has given up. The Control board has been replace twice and also another part. First I will never buy a combination again, if one goes you're just out altogether. Paid way to much for it to begin with for so many problems. The one Star is for the looks only.

We had all whirlpool gold appliances installed in our new house. Fast forward 1 1/2 years the industrial exhaust hood malfunctioned with the light flickering on and off when you push the fan buttons. Called the not so friendly customer service only to be told that my appliance is no longer under warranty. How nice! An appliance that we only used a handful of times does not work properly. I also had to replace all four knobs on the stove because the plastic on the the stainless steel stove started to to peal off of all four knobs. The rubber bumpers on the cooking grates needed to be replaced twice because they fell off. Lastley the microwave and oven combination unit broke. All of this happed in six years. The appliances are not heavily used. If you're anything like me you work way to hard for your money to purchase poorly constructed appliances that are not built to last. So disappointed in a company of this magnitude.

We bought a home that was 2 years old with one of these. The microwave failed and the board was replaced per the error code. When the power was turned back on the unit failed again on the first use. I will replace the unit with a different brand and better warranty. The only remedy is to replace the entire unit.

Had got similar unit at Lowe's would not work. Had find this one to replace it. You still owe me money for the big service agreement i paid on the first unit.

This combo unit replaced a standalone micro and wall oven. The combined unit looks very modern and has over the few weeks I've owned it met my expectations. The micro works well, the oven heats up quickly and the controls are not that difficult to understand.
I did read elsewhere that some had issues with this being a noisy oven. That is not the case with my unit. I have not heard the fan at all - neither when using the oven or when it is cooling down.
I would guess that some might have a fan which is slightly out of alignment for whatever reason.
I installed this myself, with help from another adult to lift it in place.
The only reason for 4/5 is lack of features like convection oven and touch screen.
Price/value is excellent for this oven.

New oven with defect in enamel on oven floor

Bought this oven/microwave combo to replace an 20+ year old version of the same Whirlpool combo microwave/oven that had developed a crack in its oven glass and had other issues, so was time to replace. Oven arrived in what appeared to be good condition, so had it installed by an electrician. When I was cleaning the outside of the unit, I noticed a very small crack in the operating panel. Did not bother me too much, so went ahead and used the oven to make lasagna, which took 25 minutes at 375 Degrees. The following day, I noticed some "spots" on the oven floor, so began wiping them up with a damp sponge. To my dismay, several pieces of the enamel flaked off the front edge of the oven floor. I examined the area more closely and could see and feel what appears to be loosening spots on both sides of the place where the enamel came off. Also notice steam on the inside of the oven window when using the microwave. Very disappointed, as now worry the oven is more defective than I originally thought. Whirlpool has a local appliance repair tech coming out to see what may be done to remedy the problem, as the unit is still under the cosmetic warranty, and hope we are able to resolve all issues with this appliance. Oven and microwave seem to operate correctly as to cook times, etc., but the steam on the inside of the oven window when the microwave is in use is of concern.

We bought this last year and have had problems ever since. The microwave portion is fine but the oven temperature is so off that food cooks unevenly. The preheat temperature is not calibrated and the fix is to preheat FOREVER and then put the food in on the lowest possible rack position. What a horrible purchase and we regret it.

The oven/microwave combo was very easy to install and cooks to perfection! We replaced a 20+ yr old model and I could not fit two 9X13 pans side by side. Now I can fit a lot more into the oven!

Had this oven combo for 5 months now. Very happy with microwave and oven performance. Looks very nice. Fan only loud during clean cycle. The only thing I would change is the corners of the doors. They are very sharp and I have scratched and stabbed myself a couple times already and it hurts!

So far I really like this unit. It's easy to use and the predefined modes (popcorn, reheat, etc) that over used so far work really well. The only thing I wish was better was the loudness of the fan. Though not terribly bad it is louder than the unit I replaced

My Whirlpool combination microwave wall oven replaced a 25 year old combination unit and what a difference. I really like appliances that use computer technology and this unit has it all. The many automatic modes of operation of the microwave are amazing. I particularly like all the different defrost options, and they work. The oven works great and after initially checking the set temperature with an oven thermometer just to make sure it was accurate, I found that it was exact. The preheat mode gets the oven up to the set temperature very quickly which saves a lot of time compared to my replaced unit. I haven't owned this new unit long enough to need to use the self-cleaning feature, but from what I've seen so far I'm sure it will work as well as the rest of the features. It's a great microwave and great oven. BTW, I have a number of Whirlpool appliances which I chose over other brands because of their high ratings by Consumer Reports. I have been extremely satisfied with all of them and this one is another..

I purchased a new home and this was the upgraded oven/microwave that I received. I have never owned an oven or microwave that makes so much noise. I am very unhappy with this product. We were thrilled that it was an American Made product, that apparently did not mean much in my opinion.

Very sleek looking and easy to clean. The oven seems to have an even temperature and controls are easy to use. The microwave seems a little less powerful than my old one, but is easy to clean, and I like them both overall.
