I am very pleased with ordering directly and online. They had the icemaker in stock. The store did not. Even store online orders were being delayed. It came in quicker than expected. Installation was fine. Works great. Again very pleased.

Icemaker installation instructions in product manual are adequate but watching the LG video available on YouTube is much more useful. If your home is not already setup to supply water to refrigerator you may need a plumber or an extended discussion with a knowledgeable salesman where you buy the parts needed to provide a water supply.

This will be my 3rd replacement icemaker for the top mount 23 cubic foot - only issue I have is the longevity of each icemaker. The previous two had exact same issue black specks from tray. I regularly change water filter inline so it is they tray. In comparison other manufacturers icemaker last substantially longer 8 years on other. Other than that very pleased with bigger cubes.

The item was exactly as described im a woman an I installed it within 10 minutes. You want to bleed it really good. And throw away the first 2 containers of ice to make sure theyre well filtered. It works amazing and is very quiet. Well worth the money and very sturdy. Great product.

Ice maker works great. Installed easily. Shari tell connectors make this a breeze to self-install.
Lowes will try to sell you the LK 65 because they cannot order this one for some reason. Then their installers dont know how to connect to the factory installed water dispenser.
Lesson I learned Order straight from Lowes and do it yourself.

We purchased this ice maker when we replaced our refrigerator. We had grown accustomed to having ice whenever we wanted it. This ice maker is worth its weight in gold. Not only is it fast but the ice cubes are larger than usual ones and the bucket is bigger as well so we are always well stocked with ice. The price was reasonable installation was easy and we couldnt be happier with it.

I ordered 1 from Lowes when I bought refrigerator and waited a month and they said this model was not made anymore.They said it would take another month to order different modelIcanceled order and ordered direct from LG. Ice maker was delivered in about a week and was very easy to install. Works great and much quieter than old one.

Lowes advertised the LK65C for the refrigerator that I bought. I ordered direct from LG. The order process was easy and fast. However that was the incorrect icemaker. It then was kind of a pain in the back to get the wrong one returned and a restock fee then it took a couple of emails and a couple of weeks to get a RA.

Easy to install. Instructions need to be more simple. Went online to LG video on how to install. Video real easy to follow and explained very good. Took about an hour to install. Had to install inline water filter in back. LG refrigerator does not come with one.

This review is based on the initial installation and customer service support.
1. I bought the fridge from Lowes and of course the icemaker had to be ordered. They said a month wait which turned into 2 almost as soon as the fridge was delivered. So I canceled and paid more through the LG website.
2. It was delivered reasonably fast but since they required signature confirmation it took 3 attempts to get. I tried to email about it and never received a response. Thankfully I was here on the 3rd attempt or it would have been sent back.
3. I finally had a chance to install it. The directions are terrible. The same steps are repeated so I was trying to figure out where all the screws went to hold the thing to the wall which has no reinforcement to actually hold anything. Also if you have something that looks like a plugin why would it need removed to expose something completely different? See picture. In the back of the freezer it looks like a straightforward plug and go. Nope.
4. Between terrible directions and a screaming toddler I called customer support thinking I had the wrong icemaker. The first person said I needed parts and service and transferred me overseas. The second person I could barely hear or understand but he needed to transfer me to online support? In the meantime I calmed down enough to make sense of the directions that show a plug then a wiring harness and I figured out the plug cover was just stuck and pulled it off then reinstalled the outer plate that didnt need to come off. I hung up. Zero stars for support.
5. After dragging the fridge out from between cabinets I went to the next step. After removing all screws from the plate I was very confused because it looked like it already had the water valve in place. The fridge has water inside so this was unnecessary as with the next step of placing a valve midway. The water lines were factory installed. So I have extra pieces. I reinstalled the scres to the plate which did not bite except at the bottom because the metal is so thin it doesnt tap after the first removal.
6. The top cap is a pain to remove and the sleeve difficult to push in 100. You have to hit the indented spot to make a hole for the screw per the directions which tells you how thin the back plate is. Then theres random stickers over foam-filled holes apparently plastic caps werent in the budget. For purposes of the icemaker theyre just holes to make the directions even more confusing.
The only reason I gave this 2 stars is because I already have ice after maybe 2 hours. Im just relieved it works because its pretty obvious any support or returns would be an impossible task.
