Fridge is 14 months old. Posted the ECH fault code yesterday - High Side Refrigerant Leak. Not a DIY repair. Appliance medics are three days out. Its two months out of warranty of course. Otherwise this isnt a bad unit Im just questioning the reliability now.

The refrigerator is great however we needed a bypass for the filter. The current bypass part was created for all LG refrigerator that was made before 2013. There is currently no bypass part for recent LG model refrigerator. We had to return the refrigerator.

Water Filter Head Design Flaw

22 month old fridge and we like it EXCEPT... The water filter connection has a design flaw. First its plastic. Second the inner part is supposed to freely spin so that it mates when you remove or replace the filter. It is frozen and will not accept a new filter. Waiting for a response from LG. We bought this at Costco so its still under the 2 year warranty.

Love the Slim Water Dispenser

Weve had this LG fridge for almost three weeks and we love it It replaced our 13 year old LG French Door Fridge. This appliance is spacious and practical. The door shelves provide a lot more room than our prior unit. Having the ice maker in the freezer frees up space in the left fridge door and provides us with plenty of ice. The slim water dispenser works well. It a better design than our previous fridge. The ice maker is fairly quiet and I purchased an ice scoop which resides in the ice tray. Reading other reviews before purchasing this fridge I was curious how well it cooled both the fridge portion and the freezer so I purchased two fridge thermometers. The freezers temperature is accurate and matches the display on the door. The fridge temperature varies +/- 3 depending where I place that thermometer. We are very pleased with this fridge and hope it will last as long if not longer than our first LG French Door fridge.

I purchased this refrigerator as a replace for a small unit in our forever home. This thing is massive I havent filled it up yet. I like the fact I can open the veg/fruit bins with just opening a single door and the extra generous bin for my meats. All the additional engineering that allows cold air to circulate within the freezer and refrigerator portions. Cant recommend highly enough. Great product.

Left door slams too hard.

All in all its good but we hav an issue with the left door closing too hard. We had to have installers/ repair guys come here 2 times after installing. Both of them explained that its completely normal. The door literally slams and shakes/ rattles all the stuff stored in the doors shelves. The installers wouldnt help by leveling out the unit so it does not lean backwards too much. They explained they are not allowed to add anything under the feet. The refrigerator sits on a slab so its already pretty flat and level. I had to Jerry rig shims and spacers to tilt the unit forward a bit as the adjustment feet/ wheels could not correct the angle it sits at. All in all it was a super pain in the behind.

Needs different door hinges.

This is a good refrigerator overall. Good capacity nice layout good temperature control love the ice maker. Lost the convenience of dispenser in door for ice but gained the amount of ice made and how quickly it made it. Just need a scoop in the container in the freezer compartment. Dont like the doors. Left one will tend to slam if you dont hold it right one has this door stop contraption on bottom hinge that makes you push it all the way close unless you give it a good shove. My refrigerators in the past needed only a slight push and they seemed to close themselves. Customer service doesnt want to here about it.

Internal water leak soon after warranty expires.

Pulled the cover identified puddling water from a very slow leak around the switch assembly on the top of the tank. No luck finding a parts/service manual to aid in repair efforts. Compressor Issues

We bought the LG 29 CU FT. FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR WITH SLIM DESIGN WATER DISPENSER 14 months ago from Costco and it already started having issues with a fan to cool the compressor. Fortunately it was still under warranty so we were able to get a service technician to look at it. Before he came we were told that they ordered the part so he could fix it when he came but when he was here he said that he doesnt have replacement parts and came to determine the issue. The part was ordered and our service call will be next week. The tech seemed to be well aware of the issue so I am hopeful that the problem will be solved after the service call however I have concerns that the problem will return because it seems to be somewhat of a design issue. Possible related to this issue is that weve had many packages of shredded cheese in the drawer that sits right above the freezer component. Hopefully the service tech will be able to check this on the upcoming visit. Until this compressor fan issue arose we were mostly satisfied with the fridge. The interior storage is plenty and gives us flexibility. Storage on the door also allows us to store larger drinks. The freezer section has a pull-out drawer and two divided section below which also allow for keeping things organized. The water dispenser on the door takes a bit getting used to to avoid splatters but its nice and handy. I would have preferred having ice also dispensed that way but I rarely use ice and my husband can get to the ice easy enough by pulling out the freezer drawer. Despite the fridge itself working well for us given what I learned about the apparent common compressor fan issue I would not buy this fridge again.

Nothing But Trouble

My appliance was delivered on May 30 and was unable to cool the entire refrigerator compartment to the 40F or below target set by both the USDA and FDA. On June 3 I felt the fridge had had sufficient time to try to reach acceptable temperatures and I had gathered enough data that I felt comfortable reaching out to customer support for assistance. After a frustrating and fruitless experience with LGs phone support I was able to get a service call scheduled by reaching out to them on Twitter. After being required to agree to pay for the service call if the technician decided that temperatures in the 40s were normal for the refrigerator with its target temperature set to 33 I eventually got a service call scheduled for June 9. The technician arrived at the very beginning of the appointment window they provided and was very pleasant to deal with. He agreed that it wasnt performing as expected and ordered a couple of parts to try replacing to see if they would help: the multi-air duct and the assembly that included the freezer fan which blows air throughout the appliance. He scheduled a follow-up service call for June 14. During that second service call he replaced the freezer fan with the new one which comes in a box labeled that it may be remanufactured -- not exactly what I was hoping for in my brand new appliance. Shortly after he left it was clear that things had gone from bad to worse. The refrigerator compartment was getting warmer there was no air being blown out of the refrigerator vents even in test mode and a few hours later the front panel was displaying an FFE error indicating that the freezer fan was malfunctioning. The service tech wanted to give it at least 24 hours to see if if started working better but I had had enough by this point also partially as a result of the multi-duct issue discussed below. I contacted Costco the next day after getting no further contact from the LG service tech and started the process of returning the appliance. Costco was great to work with as usual Apart from the poor support experience the big concern which contributed to me returning the LG and buying a different brand is that when examining the multi-duct part thats responsible for channeling the cold air from the freezer throughout the refrigerator compartment I noticed that there appear to be fake vents for the middle and bottom shelves which are not actually connected to the source of the cold air. The vents for those lower two shelves are connected to the big box labeled Multi Air Flow at the back of the top shelf but no air is pushed through any of that central ducting the vertical red lines in the attached photo. The cold air appears to all be channeled to 3 locations: two at the back sides of the top shelf and one above the top-right door bin. The air flow at the door bin was barely perceptible with the appliance in test mode but its possible that was a symptom of the freezer fan never working properly in my unit rather than a design flaw. Lastly Ill note that there is a plastic grill along the entire front ceiling of the refrigerator to make it look like theres door cooling all the way across there but it seems unlikely that much if any air would ever come out of the left side above the door based on the way the ducting is setup. Maybe in a fully-functional refrigerator the lack of cold air being sent directly to the bottom two shelves wouldnt be a show-stopper but part of what attracted me to these LG models was the claims of more-consistent temperatures throughout the refrigerator as a by-product of their multi air flow design. What I discovered about the multi-duct construction made those claims feel like deceptive advertising. When coupled with the poor service experience and being without a functional refrigerator in our kitchen for 3 weeks I decided it was time to return this unit and get one from a different manufacturer.

I have had this refrigerator for a month and Im so pleased with it. I can open the sores and actually see everything that is in there. My old refrigerator had such small shelves that things would get pushed to the back and forgotten about. I also love having the freezer on the bottom.

When doors keep open they are supposed to close slowly. For mine right door does not close the left door closes rapidly with slam sound. The unit is leveled. I contacted customer service. There is no solution.

Dear LG I am pleased to provide feedback on the LG 29 CU FT. FRENCH DOOR REFRIGERATOR WITH SLIM DESIGN WATER DISPENSER as requested. Overall it has been a very good product serving us well for the past three years since we purchased it during the pandemic. One minor issue we have encountered is that the ice sometimes gets stuck in the ice maker requiring us to manually loosen it in the ice basket for the dispenser to release the ice properly. Additionally the water dispenser or snout is not easy to clean as it has a persistent brown syrupy substance that we havent been able to remove. On the positive side we are pleased with the refrigerators features including the well-designed trays and compartments. The size is perfect for our needs and the bottom freezer with two shelves helps in separating frozen items effectively. However one drawback weve experienced is the frequent replacement of the water filter. Despite using a water pump connected to water bottles for purified water we find ourselves forced to replace the filters almost every three months. This makes the filters redundant and adds an additional cost. Overall we are happy with the refrigerator but improvements in the ice maker water dispenser cleanliness and water filter longevity would make it an even better product. Ice maker is slow

This fridge does almost everything its supposed to do except make ice at the stated level. After several weeks it is still making less than half a container over 48 hr period. I tried lowering the temp to -4 degF but still quite slow. AND customer support was not helpful at all.
