I bought this refrigerator two and a half years ago the door-in-a-door feature was convenient. Keeps the beverages accessible without losing the cold air inside. Plus it looks great. Big problem: The compressor died its the motor that keeps the refrigerator running. This should not happen expensive appliances should last for at least 10 years. I called customer support who stated the part and labor were under warranty for five years...but from appliance repair resources I hear that LG is slow to follow through and I should be prepared for LG to not cover the labor even though they said it was covered. Its been over two weeks...still no repair and I dont know whether they will reimburse me for the labor cost when the appliance repair company receives the replacement part.

The refrigerator died in 5 years. Compressor was faulty. Tried from your list of repair technicians to get it fixed under warranty. Not one of them had the EPA certification to fix the compressor and most were out of business or did not respond. Had to buy a new refrigerator and certainly didnt buy an LG.

We bought this refrigerator about 3.5 years ago. It is a beautiful refrigerator and wanted to go to a counter depth refrigerator for the look. That was mistake #1. It is just too small. So far we have had to have LG out twice. Once for a freeze up problem our fault and once to replace the compressor. I will say that LG was great on getting us service. The freeze up problem was due to cleaning without unplugging the refrigerator.there is NO on/9ff switch. You either need to pull it out to unplug or shut off a circuit breaker to clean the inside or it freezes up. Otherwise it is great.

Bought 5 1/2 years ago. It stopped cooling after about 2 years. LG fixed it quickly under warranty. currently it is making an intermittent fan noise in the center of the frig. Found on LG web site that the fan is hitting ice and needs to be defrosteddoes this automatically thats why its intermittent. I love the glass door but hate that the back side of the door opens with a push. Its always opening when you accidently bump it I rarely use the back door and taped it closed. The button on the handle to open the door is a plastic coated to make it look like stainless steel and after about 2 years has worn off to reveal the white plastic underneath. I complained to LG and they sent me a new handle. I also dont like that I have to open both doors to use the bottom wide drawer or the center drawer above it. The water and ice dispensers work great. Makes various sounds but overall is quiet. No complaints about the freezer section it works well. Dont use the wifi feature but it maybe useful for troubleshooting. Wish that it would give me the actual internal temperature and not just the set temperature. Overall I would give it a 3.8 rating because of the drawer issue and the back window door opening. Customer Support was excellent when it stopped cooling and for the door button issue.

Thankfully it was still under an extend warranty and was repaired at no additional cost to me. I am grateful that LG recognized there was a problem with some compressors and extended the warranty coverage. I am however disappointed that I lost a whole refrigerator full of food and was without a working one for almost a month

We really were happy with our LG refrigerator for 3 years it worked perfectly. Then while out of town for a week it quit cooling. When we arrived home the refer part and freezer part were at 80 degrees. We dont understand why the inside temp reached 80 degrees. If the unit would have just shut off the existing inside temps would have held until we got home and the food not spoiled. All the food in the 2 compartments was spoiled and had to be thrown out. Its been 6 weeks and its still not repaired. We have had 4 technician visits with many parts replaced including both evaporators and the compressor twice. The latest tech said it may not be repairable. The last word from LG is that they are trying to find another technician and schedule another appointment. Meanwhile we are still without a refrigerator and it looks like it could be another month. We purchased this model because Consumer Reports had rated it very high. Now we question Consumer Reports and LGs ability to repair their own appliance.

2015 purchase. Took 20 days to repair. Condenser was replaced then it had a leak in the manufacturers assemblycase. The units back was tin sheared open insulation foam carved our line fixed now back panel does not align with the rest of back. Once a day the unit makes a high pitched scream for about ten minutes. It does cool now thankfully. Counting the days until it stops working all together. LG customer service is a joke. Tech that came out was a nice man who covers a LARGE area.

I bought this refrigerator in June of 2019. The compressor failed. I called LG and they promptly had a repair technician replace the compressor refrigerator coil with defrost system and updated the software on the on the refrigerator at no charge to me.

We love all the features Ive maker crushed ice window in the door.we thought we were set for at least 10 years. But Nope I took a dump on us they say its a recall. The compressor went out on us. Bought this fridge because it was very attractive especially with the glass panel on the door. When it was working it was great. Extremely quite. Didnt notice it was even running. However only 4years and a few months and the fridge stopped working. LG customer support service was surprising good. Very refreshing to get a live rep over the phone and online with out having to go thru all the automations. This is a huge positive consideration for future purchase. After the repair the fridge was just not the same as before. Its no where was good as before the unit stopped working. One improvement needed by the engineers is the folding flap on the left door to seal the doors after opening needs improvement. That piece either gets stuck and makes a terrifying noise or prevents the doors from shutting properly.

We really like the refrigerator except we love it--the only exception is the control board and compressor had to be replaced after 3 1/2 years of use. It has plenty of space Air Water filters are excellence. We use the exterior door compartment and the interior drawer extensively and are excellent features. The shelf and drawer features in the refrigerator and freezer compartments are well layout. A value-add would be for the warranty to cover non-sealed items such as the control board which is the heart of the electronic capability. We suggest buying the extended warranty.

We are very unhappy with your service for warranty work. Our refrigerator quit working during the night June 7. Your customer service told us it cant be repaired until July 5. If you think that is good service just unplug your refrigerator a month and see how you like it. While it was working we liked it fine but it is very hard on us to wait a full month to get it fixed. And then if it needs a part will we have to wait another month?

The refrigerator came with a home I purchased in 2021. The refrigerator looks nice and was new along with the the home in 2019. June 2023 compressor went out. No surprise as I had another lg refrigerator that was similar that the compressor went out and needed service 3 times before I got rid of it. Hopefully this one with its new compressor will last longer. Because of the compressor issues I would not purchase a LG refrigerator

My refrigerator stopped functioning on May 12 this year. I just finished my third visit with a repairman. The third time is because the fan is not functioning after replacing the compressor and the condenser. They now have to order parts and they set an appointment of June 14 to install the parts. This is unacceptable. I have called LG approximately eight times to set a or follow up on appointments. The first repairman from Assurion told me that these products are known to have a less than five year shelf life. Just be aware of your warranty knowing that after five years you may have to replace your refrigerator

Refrigerator is about 30 months old. Looks great. Love all the features and does not fingerprint easily. A few nits - one of the plastic drawers is cracked stainless steel / gray plastic water dispenser push scratched easily. Plastic freezer drawers have very small holes / openings so air flow can get restricted if the freezer is 80+ full. Water and air filters pretty expensive if you change per the maintenance schedule. I would buy this refrigerator again

I have owned this refrigerator for a little over four years and out of nowhere it just died on us. It no longer cools the food and is now just eating up power and space in our kitchen. We lost HUNDREDS of dollars worth of meat and other groceries and to top it off we had to buy another refrigerator because we were given a timeline of four to six weeks for repair - possibly more. Our appointment with a certified repair technician isnt for another week and even then we were told he likely will not have the part required for repair and that this is simply a diagnostic visit to establish the problem. Now we have a fridge in our living room for the foreseeable future. We were so excited when we were finally able to invest in such an expensive appliance to make our lives easier so you can understand our total disappointment when in less than five years it stopped working. Even though this appliance was covered by a protection plan the fact that such a huge problem occurred in such an expensive appliance has completely diminished my faith in LG products. I always thought that LG was a top name in the market but this has been a terrible experience.

Bought product in 2019. A year later I couldnt replace the water filter without altering the new filter tip to fit to the housing. Last month the compressor just died luckily it was under warranty and LG impressively replaced it promptly within two days.

Stopped cooling

While it was working it was a beautiful refrigerator with great features but after just 3 years it stopped cooling. They think its the compressor but LG doesnt have anybody in the area that will work on it to even verify the fault Unfortunately this isnt the first time for us we actually replaced an LG fridge with this one because it stopped cooling

Bought this fridge less than two years ago and the compressor is already shot. Its been over two weeks now with no word of when it will be replaced. Do not buy this fridge.
